2012 RNC: Fear Mongering, Undercover Cops, and the Corporate Media

by Jacob Crawford
In recent weeks, media outlets in Tampa have been putting out very heavy campaigns against "Anarchist and "Lawbreakers" coming to Tampa to raise hell. With few examples of credible threats, a recent DHS-FBI bulletin warning of possible IED's among others things during the RNC has been one of the dominating stories. Despite their vague warnings, authorities claim that they have no specific groups or people that they are investigating.

It’s not uncommon to see to police and FBI raids on political organizers in the months, weeks, and days leading up to presidential conventions. Media coverage about lawbreakers and anarchy dominate the air waves, allowing police to be more heavy-handed towards people demonstrating.

This year there have been less crackdowns than most conventions in recent years, still in the weeks and days leading to the RNC in Tampa, media outlets and police have begun putting out stories about anarchists with no political agenda coming to Tampa hell bent on breaking things, rioting, and attacking police.

With little to nothing in form of raids or examples of upcoming threats, the DHS released an intelligence bulletin to CNN in the days before the RNC outlining areas that “anarchist extremist” may attack. According to the DHS and FBI, though, they have no specific groups or people that they are investigating.

ha - that Thomas Parisi guy, who was being interviewed by TV proclaiming that there would be an aggressive attitude by protesters - has been kicked out of multiple Occupy groups. Everyone is so suspicious of him that they think he's either mentally ill or working for law enforcement etc.

They made a special page on him, on the resistrnc website, where they are asking for people to forward good information on undercover police officers
