Join poets, musicians, songwriters, and artists around the USA and across the planet in a demonstration/celebration to promote serious social and political change. So far more than 650 events are planned in 110 countries, all focused on uniting art with global change, whether it is towards a more sustainable world or world peace.
In Santa Cruz there will be a 100 Thousand Poets for Change event at the Louden Nelson Community Center (301 Center St.). Come for the open mic and stay to hear featured poets, including Ellen Bass. This free event is hosted by local poets Manfred Luedge, Jim Russo, Bert Glick, and Barbara Leon. It will be followed by a poetry walking tour from Louden Nelson to the Clock Tower.
