Deep and long-term unemployment is hitting the City’s low-income residents, particularly of color. State school bus funding being cut way back. More and more families are having difficulty finding enough money to get their children to school on time day-after-day, month-after-month, as needed for success in school.

Everyone agrees it’s an outrageous waste of human potential to have kids fail in school for lack of bus fare, but somehow San Francisco, one of the world’s richest cities, cannot fully fund free transit for youth.
