Photos from Free Bradley Manning Occupation of Obama Headquarters in Oakland
On Thursday August 16th as protests took place in Los Angeles and Portland Oregon in support of Bradley Manning, here in Oakland dozens of protesters marched on the Obama campaign office, shutting it down.
7 protesters including members from the Iraq Veterans Against the War sat down in the office refusing to leave. Protesters were outraged that Manning has been locked up for nearly 800 days and has yet to stand trial and demanded that Manning be pardoned claiming it impossible for him to receive a fair trial after president Obama claimed Manning had "broke" during a speech in 2011.
Oakland police were massed up outside the campaign office, on street intersections and even in the campaign office. After several hours, police arrested 6 of the 7 demonstrators.
