Schools at all levels, from kindergarten to university, are facing austerity measures: closings, budget cuts, tuition hikes, and staffing reductions. Locally, City College, the pillar of working class access to higher education in San Francisco, has been threatened with closure by the accreditation committee. What will the effect be on students, communities and future access to education? Is it a coincidence that a trillion dollar education industry, backed by billionaires and banks, is simultaneously developing?

Join us for a discussion of the crisis in education, introduced by an education whistleblower, a parent activist, a student trustee at CCSF, and an Occupy Education activist.
