MUNI sabotaged on the 1 year anniversary of Kenneth Harding's murder by SFPD

by anonymous
Monday July 16th, on the one year anniversary of the murder of Kenneth Harding by SFPD, we put an outbound T train out of commission by splattering paint on it. We wrote, "Vengeance for Kenny" on the train. We sabotaged the construction happening on the N Judah, and we dropped a banner at 7th and Market reading, "Fare Strike for Kenneth Harding/ Fuck the Police."

We sabotaged MUNI because they care more about their 2 dollar fare then they do about our lives.
We sabotaged MUNI because it is a machine for the transportation of our bodies to the workplace.
We sabotaged MUNI to encourage an intensification of attack on the instruments of governance.

I saw or heard nothing on the news re the reaction of Muni drivers . Any info ? I hope there was some support from the mainly Black and Latino union local . However IF not was this action a tactically wise one ?
PS How did the worker/commuters especially in the Hunters Point/Nay view area react ?

During shutdown day, The drivers will not talk to us because they are afraid for their jobs. Their union has sided with management. But during the march, the reactions from drivers was of support with a wink and a smile. They had no problem with a shutdown because they will get paid anyways. It was more time for them to rest from their strenuous job and hopefully, more trains and buses in the yard getting fixed. Talking to Muni drivers before the shutdown, the drivers that worked there the longest were all for it. The newer drivers didn't know whats up and just believed the lies and are companymen. The drivers at the very least, enjoyed the show.

Any "sabotage" was not part of the #munishutdown crew. It was an autonomous action. It does not matter what kind pf protest you organize. No one can prevent someone else or a group from organizing their own thing. During the port shutdown, another crew vandalized Whole Foods which was NOT part of the main organizers plan. With that said, the banner drop was a great idea, the "sabotage", not so good cuz "vandalism" will not shut down Muni. There was a reason why we did it that way.
Please don't write ''Union'' as in ''the union is backing mgmt. etc "' when you actually mean the union leadership or at least some of the leaders .
Unions despite all their flaws are the only mass working class orgs that we have . Let's not write them off just because all too many officials go along with mgmt.

Stan,
It's pretty clear what was meant by "union". It WAS about the union officials' opinions which are in contrast with the rank n file. That does not mean the union was being "written off" as you claim.

I do believe that most (probably all ) of those that organized this action do distinguish between leaders and the org as a whole. BUT there are more than a few radicals who do write all the labor movement especially though not exclusively among some factions of the anarchist movement .
So i think it's better to be perfectly clear what is meant .

To make it clear, this posting above was NOT part of the Muni Shutdown Crew. The banner drop and "sabotage" posting above was a separate automous action. The Muni Shutdown was here:
