Please join me in unwelcoming President Obama to our district on Monday, July 23rd! He will be spending the whole day in the East Bay, with a campaign reception at the Fox Theater in downtown Oakland that begins at 4:30pm.
Won’t you consider joining us at this exciting event, inside or out?
Perhaps vehicular traffic could be shut down on Telegraph Avenue and surrounding streets prior to the scheduled fundraising gala. There's no helicopter pad on top of the Fox Theater from which to sneak in the president.
Tickets are not cheap, but perhaps money could be pooled to get nonviolent civil disobedience disrupters inside:
- $1,000.00 VIP Seating, Per person
- $7,500.00 Event Sponsor, Includes photo reception + general reception
- $2,500.00 Additional Photo Reception Participants, Per additional guest for photo reception
You can reserve tickets here: https://donate.barackobama.com/page/contribute/o2012-July23OaklandReception1
I hope you’ll be able to come out, so we can give our President a real East Bay unwelcome, and let him know we're not happy that he does not have our backs when the big banks foreclose our homes, corporations are allowed to pollute and leave brown fields behind, neighborhood schools are being closed, the police kill people of color with no accountability, OPD kicks the shit out of peaceful protesters, and the feds are raiding our cannabis clubs. The time is now. This is our big chance.
Spread the word and form an affinity group to do your part now!
