Bortin Hall, Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek
Arthritis Be Damned, a new comedy that gives a glimpse into life in the huge retirement community of "Harkmoor," which has more than a few intended resemblances to Walnut Creek’s own Rossmoor, will have a premiere staged reading in the last two weekends of July.
“…not to be missed – funny for ALL ages!”
Rated R for Retired or Ribald
The playwright, Bud Lembke, has a close acquaintance to his subject. He lives in Rossmoor and he just turned 90 May 19. His play, "Arthritis Be Damned," revolves around a fierce battle that has raged around whether or not to build an $11 million event center. Rossmoor has just been engaged in just such a controversy.
Tickets are $15 and are available at the Mt Diablo Unitarian Church Office, the Peace Center office and at Rossmoor Gateway Center beginning June 25 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Online tickets are also available at http://www.mtdpc.org/
