Mayor Lane at "Penny University"

Date:
Monday, July 02, 2012
Time:
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Event Type:
Class/Workshop
Organizer/Author:
Bruce Bratton (posted by Norse)
Location Details:
Penny University, the Weekly Gathering Organized by Paul Lee and Bruce Bratton, meets at the Calvary Episcopal Church at Cedar and Lincoln.

Mayor Don Lane will discuss a variety of issues and take relevant questions from the group, which is open to all. Next door is the homeless meal run by Father Joel Miller (who former Mayor Cynthia Mathews was unable to evict).

For those interested in homeless issues (not the primary focus of Lane's presentation probably), you can actually get the real on-the-ground under-the-gun story from homeless people themselves in the next room.

Bruce Bratton tells me that it will be a low-key lecture-type event with some room (at the discretion of Lane) for questions.

Some of the subjects to be covered will be City Council procedures, pensions after politicians leave office, Council decorum, upcoming election issues, etc.

Bruce Bratton's twice-monthly column can be found at http://brattononline.com/ .

Norse's note: Lane has recently been invited to publicly discuss claims of disability discrimination out at the Homeless Services Center (which I call the Homeless Lack of Services Center).

So far he has declined to follow through on a promise to publicly answer questions. Lane has been invited to appear on a panel on Community TV next week, but seems to have backed out.
