Did you know that a recently adopted state law (AB341) makes it mandatory for property owners of multi-family buildings over 5-units to provide recycling? Did you know that beginning January 1, 2013 plastic bags will be banned at all stores in Berkeley that sell packaged food? Environmental groups and zero waste advocates have developed policies that are lowering the amount of waste going to landfill and into the Bay. Hear how Berkeley will be implementing the plastic bag ban, mandatory recycling, and other innovations. This event is part of "Reuse, Redesign, Restore: a series about Zero Waste."
