In this presentation we will deal with ‘Ideological Mystification’ as an essential factor in the reproduction of late Capitalism. We will begin with a brief discussion of how Capital ‘reproduces the conditions of production at the same time it produces’ from Louis Althusser’s "Ideology and the Ideological State Apparatuses”. We will discuss some ideas originating in the Frankfurt school earlier in the 20th century. Also we will have a short introduction to “The Political Economy of the Sign” by Jean Baudrillard.
A discussion will follow.
