Bruce Gagnon, Co-founder and Coordinator of Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, discusses the impact of rising U.S. militarism, including expansion in Asia and space, on the economic crisis here at home on his West Coast speaking tour.
In 1987 he organized the largest peace protest in Florida history in opposition to the first flight test of the Trident II nuclear missile. He also organized the Cancel Cassini Campaign (launched 72 pounds of plutonium into space in 1997) that drew enormous support and media coverage around the world. He is the author of Come Together Right Now: Organizing Stories from a Fading Empire and a member of Veterans for Peace.
Sponsored by Sacramento Area Peace Action, Grandmother for Peace, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Physicians for Social Responsibility, and Veterans for Peace.
