This week's class focuses on "Challenes and Rewards of Organizing Across Color Lines" and making common cause and building effective solidarity despite racial and cultural differences.

Overcoming Racism: A Radical Approach is a public class exploring whether racial conflict is inevitable or a product of social and economic conditions that can be understood and changed. Works by writers of color, feminists and radicals will be used to explore these questions. Participants will also learn about the vanguard role of people of color in social justice movements and the challenges and rewards of organizing across color lines.

The class is held from 7:00-8:30pm, with a light supper provided at 6:30pm for a $6 donation. There is a $2 donation requested per session.

Location: New Valencia Hall, 747 Polk St., San Francisco (at Ellis St.)
