Oakland's FTP March

by Darin Bauer
As far as I know this was another peaceful protest, however I came in late.

We found out that a protester in New York City got his head smashed into a window by police. The second march was inspired by that fact. Some nice soul had hot chocolate. No violence, no arrests. The first photograph you can see the line of riot police preventing what to my late attending perception seemed like a second run to the police station. That was 8th and Broadway. The second photograph was just us swinging back to 19th Street. The park at 19th Street and Telegraph Avenue is the meeting place for the Saturday Night Fuck the Police March, get there around 8 or 8:30.

It's interesting that these Fuck the Police marches have been non violent, when you think about how much fuss people about them being associated with violence.

Saturday was a good day as we had two "Fuck the Police" marches, the first was in the hood where we need to be more (East Oakland) and the second going to the Police Department. Both marches with no violence but plenty of tax dollars for overtime for the police (another library set to be closed). I wish the Kumbaya crowd would stop making excuses and start participating. As I have stated many times before when you identify the local police as part of the problem you have the start of a successful revolution.
