FROM FUKUSHIMA TO DIABLO CANYON
California has two operating nuclear power stations: San Onofre near San Diego, and Diablo Canyon near San Luis Obispo. Both plants are near active earthquake faults, and located by the ocean.
What can we learn from the disaster at Fukushima last year? What are the evacuation procedures if there is a meltdown at Diablo? What can we do now?
Join us in welcoming Liz Apfelberg and Linda Seeley from the Mothers for Peace, who will be giving a history and an update of the unrelenting opposition to Diablo Canyon.
WILPF Public Program, Tuesday March 20, 7 – 9 pm, Quaker Meetinghouse, 225 Rooney St. (off the inland end of Morrissey). Open to all. Free, donations welcomed! For more information, email chair [at] wilpf.got.net.
Co-sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Santa Cruz County, and the Santa Cruz County Peace Coalition.
