Occupation for Self-Determination!
African and indigenous people have a right to own and control their
own food production and distribution systems!
One of two events to launch the Oakland Freedom Summer Project
From July 9-29, 2012, activists, students and community members will
renovate the historic Uhuru House black community center in East
Oakland, install a sustainable community garden and participate in the
installation of Uhuru Jiko, a community kitchen, a program to bring
true community commerce, health and food programs to the African
community.
Uhuru Foods and the Uhuru Solidarity Movement call on the food justice
and community activists, chefs, health workers and freedom-loving
people everywhere to contribute to self-determination and
self-reliance of the African community.
Donate skills, money, time and resources.
Keynote Speaker:
Omal Yeshitela, Chairman of the African Socialist International
Penny Hess, Chairwoman of the African People's Solidarity Committee

Eric Holt-Gimenez - Executive Director of Food First
