PAID Social Justice workshop: funding what's public

Date:
Thursday, February 23, 2012
Time:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Type:
Teach-In
Organizer/Author:
David Giesen
Location Details:
Notable House
189 Ellsworth St.
San Francisco, CA 94110

The Commons SF offers stipended social justice advocates workshops every Thursday evening.

This week the topic is "Land and Public Infrastructure." In two hours you'll get new and powerful insights and arguments in how to fund public education, public transportation, fire and police protection, the court system, museums, health care, bridges, roads and highways.

The Commons SF offers a sage yet neglected perspective, namely that land values reflect the growth of community and should be socialized. This model reconciles expenditures with services by intimately linking locational value with public revenue.

Attendees are stipended $20 for each of the five stand-alone workshops they attend. Visit http://www.TheCommonsSF.org CLICK ON "SEMINARS" for more information.

Please do RSVP if you will attend.
