This is the sixth session of our weekly class on A New Economy, which is facilitated by Derek Tennant. This class examines our current economic system and explores alternatives that may augment or replace it in equitable and sustainable ways.

This week, we will ask: What is the state of the economy today? How are the 99% doing in this time of deep recession and unemployment? Is it possible that the U.S. is becoming the first, post-industrial Third World country?
