Black History Month Film Showing

“Freedom Riders.” A documentary recounting the 1961 efforts of a courageous group of black and white activists, men and women, who risked their lives to challenge the segregation laws of the Southern States. These civil rights fighters and students faced down the KKK and racist mob violence, and provide an inspiring example for these times as the struggle against racism continues. Friday, February 17, 7:00 pm. $3-$5 door donation. Snacks and popcorn available for additional small donation. New Valencia Hall, 747 Polk St., San Francisco (7 blocks from Civic Center BART, and near Muni lines #19, 31, 38, 47 & 49). Sponsored by Freedom Socialist Party. For more information or childcare, call 415-864-1278 or email bafsp [at] earthlink.net. http://www.socialism.com. Wheelchair accessible.
