This panel will explore how people are targeted by law enforcement for "preventive prosecution" based on their political and religious beliefs. The panel will include a discussion of the chilling effect this has on our 1st amendment right to political and religious expression.
Speakers include: Wazhma Mojaddidi, Defense Attorney for Hamid Hayat (a Pakistani immigrant entrapped by the FBI); Rachel Roberts, Civil Rights Coordinator for Northern California CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations); and Jenny Esquivel, partner of Eric McDavid (an activist arrested in 2006 after being entrapped by a government informant)
