The uprisings across North Africa and the Middle East took the world by storm last year, inspiring people all around the globe. As hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets and longstanding dictators fell, the region was transformed. There is much to learn from these movements, what they have accomplished and what more can be done.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Joel Beinin,
professor of History, at Stanford University, has studied social movements in this region for decades – especially the movements of the Egyptian working class.
