Report Back from Black Mesa
Monday, December 19th
7:00pm at the old Resource Center for Nonviolence (RCNV)
515 Broadway - Santa Cruz
In November, twelve people from Santa Cruz traveled to Black Mesa, Arizona to assist Dine' (Navajo) families that are resisting coal strip mining and relocation from their ancestral lands. Afterwards, some of them traveled to Phoenix for an indigenous gathering and to take part in demonstrations against the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and the Salt River Project, which are both closely linked to the ongoing exploitation of Black Mesa.
Having recently returned from Arizona, this year's caravan participants will share stories, photos, and reflections at this small, informal event. Please join us!
