The Advanced Music Program (AMP) is a brand new program for advanced teens brought to you by Bay Area Girls Rock Camp. Since September, students have been writing songs with their bands, recording, making band merch, building radio transmitters, making stop-motion animation videos, learning about women of color in punk, and having in-depth conversations about healthy relationships.
AMP is an incredible and unique space for advanced musicians to take their music to the next level. AMP serves the youth of Oakland and the Bay Area at large, with no one ever turned away for lack of funds.
The AMP showcase is going to be EPIC! 4 AMP bands will each perform a set of original songs. Followed by two of our faves: the inspiring and influential all-female Bay Area bands, ERASE ERRATA and GRASS WIDOW!!!
Seriously. Totally. Amazing.
924 Gilman is an all ages, not for profit, collectively run, music/performance club and community space.
Tickets are $7-20 sliding scale at the door. Proceeds will support Bay Area Girls Rock Camp and its mission of empowering girls through music education, creation and performance.
