MAPS Visionary Art Gallery http://www.maps.org
Two time travelers left the year 1910, headed to the year 2090, without ample provisions. Their fossil-
fueled adventure came to a quick halt in the resource-depleted future. The pair grabbed what they could, picking up a few tricks for the kit, and hustled back to their home-year. However, they only made it so far as 2008. Now Dan Cohen and Gabe Shaughnessy are raising gas money and awareness with their interactive artwork, combining time-tested techniques with geekery from beyond this time.
MULTIMEDIA TRIBUTE FOR ROBERT VENOSA Hosted by Martina Hoffmann & Friends
Robert Venosa (1936 - 2011) http://www.venosa.com
The Visionary art of Robert Venosa has been exhibited worldwide and is represented in major collections, including those of noted museums, rock stars and European aristocracy. In addition to painting, sculpting and film design - pre sketches and conceptual design for the movie Dune, and Fire in the Sky for Paramount Pictures, and Race for Atlantis for IMAX - Venosa has added computer art to his creative menu. His work has been the subject of three books, as well as being featured in numerous publications - and on a number of CD covers, including those of Santana, Kitaro, Ornette Coleman, et al.
Venosa had the crux of his creative existence insightfully encapsulated in these comments by author Nevill Drury: "If the most exciting art-making one can hope to encounter is an exploration of the furthest realities of the imagination, then Robert Venosa must surely rank among the luminaries of our era. His unique approach to Visionary art is nothing less than a fascinating scrutinization of the mysterious realms of being. Venosa's imagery enfolds us with its magical power - truly a mythology for our times". all as to the magic and mysteries of the transcendent realms he inhabits...and paints.”
Robert Venosa will be remembered as one of the most outstanding visionary artists of all time.
“Evolving Culture, Reality, as we perceive it, is largely shaped by the artifacts, both material and symbolic, of thought, thought that leads to creative manifestation in form and color. With that in mind, it might be suggested that the visual artist, - from commercial designer to fine art painter - has much to do with most things that enter your everyday visuals, and thus form a major portion of one's reality and, certainly, how this culture manifests and evolves.” Robert Venosa
“Bravo Venosa! Dali is pleased to see spiritual madness painted with such a fine technique.” -Salvador Dali
“Robert Venosa creates mythical mindscapes that fascinate and illuminate. His tableaux are windows into timeless vistas of the inner realities.” -Timothy Leary
“Robert Venosa’s art truly captures the imprint of a spiritual force; each painting so alive, seeming to breathe, pulsate and stare back at you, challenging the viewer to also reach their highest potential.” -Carlos Santana

INSTALLATIONS
HEARTBEAT AMPLIFIER http://www.HeartbeatAmplifier.com
As you rest in one of the Heartbeat Amplifier (HBA) chairs and place your hands on the sensors, within a few seconds a musical orchestra of sensation begins to envelop you. The unmistakable thump of a
heart is noticed by all around you and a dazzling multicolored array of throbbing light rains over your
body and the surrounding area. Simultaneously you experience a series of pulsing vibrations in the
chair that feel like the opening and closing of the heart’s chambers. Soon you realize your own
heartbeat is driving the world of beautiful lights, vibrations and sounds – you are the show. Together
with friends sitting in the other chairs, your heartbeats create a constantly mutating sensory art
experience in real-time. The experience for participants and spectators is beautiful, meditative,
mysterious and surreal. Welcome to the world of the Heartbeat Amplifier, an art project by Alan Macy
and Hitch McDermid, with the support of dozens of amazing volunteers.

Martina Hoffmann http://martinahoffmann.com/
German-born artist Martina Hoffmann’s paintings are directly inspired by the realms of the dream, the unconscious and the superconscious.“Bringing back these images is about communication. The painting becomes the otherworldly blueprint from which we can translate into human context. The message is simple: If we allow it, there is no limit to form and content. This holds the potential for us to be able to create a reality as beautiful, healthy and strong as our imagination permits. Hoffmann’s work has been exhibited internationally. She teaches painting classes together with her husband, Fantastic Realist Robert Venosa, all over the world.
