The 2010 Sierra Club election showed an unprecedented interest in positions on the Executive Committee of the Santa Cruz County Group.
This year we expect another exciting election. The current Group Chair, Kevin Collins, a long time conservation activist who is also President of the Lompico Watershed Conservancy, Secretary/Treasurer Mark Sullivan, an environmental attorney, and Forestry Committee Chair and former Earth First activist Dennis Davie are up for re-election.
The other candidates nominated for the three seats include Green Ways to School Coordinator Tawn Kennedy, and solar engineer and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition Board member Greg McPheeters. In addition, former anti-nuclear activist and alternative transportation advocate Mary Odegaard is running as a petition candidate.
