Rachel West, In Defense of Prostitute Women’s Safety Project and US PROStitutes Collective on sex workers, like occupiers, organizing against police raids and arrests of street, on-line and massage parlor workers; Proposition K, the voter initiative for decriminalization, safety and resources.
Kiki Axelsson, London occupier and Women against Rape, London on working with women seeking asylum from rape, trafficking & other torture & women who are imprisoned or held in detention centers. Originally from Sweden, she is critical of Swedish repressive laws & policies on immigration, prostitution & welfare reform. Her Guardian article on WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was quoted extensively including by Michael Moore.
Nell Myhand, Women of Color in the Global Women’s Strike on the situation of young women, particularly mothers and women of color, forced into prostitution by lack of housing, welfare and other resources and criminalized.
Lori Nairne, Legal Action for Women on a community-led effort to get justice in the trial of Jack Bokin who brutally attacked and raped sex workers and other women; what we can do in the upcoming case of accused serial murderer Joseph Naso.
Paul Boden, Western Regional Advocacy Project on organizing against the criminalization of poverty, homelessness and the Sit/Lie law which makes it a crime to sit or lie on SF sidewalks.
Nedra Ruiz, criminal attorney on representing prisoners and disarming the BART police.
