For those of you who have been waiting for details about this Sunday's big Trader Joe's march in Oakland, here you go, straight from the fine folks at Just Harvest USA who are putting it all together:
THIS SUNDAY, MARCH FOR FARMWORKER JUSTICE IN OAKLAND!
Join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, participants of the Community Food Security Coalition conference (Food Justice: Honoring Our Roots, Growing the Movement) and Bay Area community allies in a march in Oakland for farmworker justice.
When: Sunday, November 6th @ Noon
Where: Gather outside of the downtown Oakland Marriott Hotel (1001 Broadway, corner of 11th and Broadway)
What: March two miles to the Lake Merritt Trader Joe's (3250 Lakeshore Ave.) to call on Trader Joe's to support human rights for the men and women who harvest the tomatoes sold in its stores. Shuttles and public transportation options available to get back to downtown Oakland in time for 2:15 pm CFSC workshop.
Snacks provided courtesy of Chez Panisse Restaurant. Yes... you heard that right, snacks provided by Alice Waters' own Chez Panisse Restaurant!
