PEACEFUL VIGIL TONIGHT, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27th at 7pm FOR SCOTT OLSEN AT OCCUPY OAKLAND

Scott is a Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq. He was critically injured by a police projectile during a brutal police crackdown on Occupy Oakland the evening of October 25.

During the General Assembly of Occupy Oakland at 14th St and Broadway tonight, there will be a candlelight vigil for Scott Olsen organized by Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). Speakers include Keith Shannon, who deployed to Iraq with Scott Olsen, and other friends and allies of Scott.

IVAW is asking all Occupy encampments to hold solidarity events for Scott Olsen today at 7 pm in their respective time zones to show support for Scott’s health and his commitment to the 99% and the Occupy Movement. Tell Oakland Mayor to end the brutality and investigate this incident:
