Occupy Santa Cruz March on Banks, More Photos
Approximately 150 supporters of Occupy Santa Cruz marched on banks Friday afternoon. The march wound its way through the downtown, and stops were made at Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo. Protesters attempted to gain entry in order to close their bank accounts as a group, but even though it was normal business hours, all three of the establishments visited had locked their doors to prevent the group from entering.
The march began at Mission Plaza at 3:30pm, and shortly after the protesters returned they learned that the SCPD wanted them out of the park by 8am on Saturday. The group decided to move their location to the County Courthouse lawn on Water Street and, and by 9:30 most of those interested in staying the evening had made there way over there. After setting up canopies and unloading some supplies, at least 10 Santa Cruz County Sheriffs arrived and stated that the protesters could not set up any sort of camp there. The canopies were removed, and the supplies were re-packed, and the sheriffs left without incident. By 11pm there were 50 people outside of the courthouse, and a pair of sheriffs could be seen occasionally walking by to check on the situation. Shortly before midnight, a meeting was held that determined those who wished to sleep would go to San Lorenzo Park to do so, and the rest of the group would stay up and protest on Water Street. Five or six people indicated they would be sleeping.

The American people are being raped (metaphorically) and robbed (literally) by banks and other institutions such as Experian. Some banks, such as Bank of America, would not even exist without the bailouts. How have they shown their gratitude? With the IRON FIST of Brian Moynihan and his cronies.
Enough is enough.
