Photos - Fed Reserve Vigil and Meeting
Photos of the vigil and community meeting friday October 9, 22011 at Federal Reserve, San Francisco.
This Is What Democracy Looks Like
Photos of the vigil and community meeting at the Federal Reserve Bank, Embarcadero, San Francisco. Fifty-plus around noon, and about 200 at 6pm. Some were part of the community meeting (6pm daily), others held vigil along Market Street.
It's always a bit of a shock to be part of the chaos of direct democracy. Voices are heard, and facilitators are doing a great job, but the process is cumbersome, and as the circle grows, some form of spokescouncil will be needed to coordinate the various strands of action.
Police raided the occupation a few days ago and confiscated belongings, canopies, etc. Police now have a cordon preventing people from getting under the cover of the Fed's portico, but the weather has been mild the past few days.

Uh, I'm assuming you're trying to be funny with that "International Socialist Conspiracy" title over the bank's armored truck? Maybe it's just me, but I don't get the joke. Perhaps you're missing the punchline?
Or are you actually saying that the banks are a socialist conspiracy? If that's the case, I think you've been at a few too many Tea Parties.
I shouldn't have to say this here, on Indybay, but maybe I do: Those trucks represent capitalism, not socialism.
