Bay Area residents are joining and supporting the Occupy SF and We Are the 99% movements in force this Wednesday, October 12, for a morning rush-hour march.

Californians have been hit hard by staggering unemployment rates and rampant foreclosures, with communities of color and working class communities bearing the brunt of the current economic crisis. Inspired by similar mass movements in New York, across the US, and around the world, residents and Bay Area community groups are speaking out.

The march participants are demanding that our banks pay their fair share of taxes and fines and that banks be held accountable for their role in causing this economic crisis.

Protesters are using the slogan “Foreclose on Wall Street West.”

SF Supervisor John Avalos, bestselling author Naomi Klein, and community members fighting to save their homes from foreclosure will address the march.
