An alternative celebration to the discovery narrative of Columbus Day centered around the diverse culinary traditions, music, art, and identity that colonized peoples have kept in tact and adapted over the last 500 years. Workshops by Poor Magazine, Stop the Gang Injunction, and the Deconstructing Oppression in the Food System Collaborative (Combating Culinary Colonialism), cooking demo by Tamales Oaxaca, Growing Justice Institute (and more), liberation art by Octavio De La Paz, and live hip-hop featuring members of BRWN BFLO.
