Betty Beekeeper (aka: Ag Hag) is hitting the road to raise awareness about the dangers of GMOs and the proliferation of chemicals around us that have never been tested for safety.
Betty is disabled, both mentally & physically, and will be giving up a place to live for camping & staying where she can. She will be selling seeds and seed bombs when she's not writing or trying to talk to people about issues. She'll miss her bees... and a bed.
Betty is funny, creative, quit drinking 1.5yrs ago, and a decent writer. She will be blogging her journey, and hopes to do some good interviews with interesting people. Read the latest here: http://ag-hag.blogspot.com/
Betty received a scholarship to attend the 'Justice Begins with Seeds' conference, and will kick off the journey with that. Then it's on to the Heirloom Expo and an interview with a well-known marijuana cultivator for the scoop on how eco-friendly pot growing is/isn't. Betty will take a train to NYC for 3 days to snoop around, and then it's on to Washington D.C. for a rally in front of the White House with the Right to Know March / Label GMOs Campaign on Oct. 16th. She'll go on to New Orleans by Greyhound, where she will be asking some tough questions about the giant dead zone in the Gulf and the GM crop farming upriver that causes it.
So back to the garage sale....
40yrs of quirky art, a t.v. with remote & dvd player built in for only $20, quality clothing, nice dishes, a world globe collection, music memorabelia (she worked in rock biz for 13yrs), and lots of really GOOD books.
She will also be selling heirloom SEEDS!!! Most are organic, and some are rare and exotic!!
