Move over Terry Gross, Michael Krasny, and the whole public radio familywe've got a public dialogue of our own.
Comedian W. Kamau Bell (The W Kamau Bell Curve, Laughter Against the Machine) and his friend and sometime collaborator rapper / activist Boots Riley (The Coup, Street Sweeper Social Club) will sit down and have a chat with each other about their careers, their lives, their hopes and dreams, and whatever else they can think of to talk about. Knowing these two, it will be raw, insightful, profound, poignant, militant and most of all, hilarious. See two Bay Area Bon Vivants who already know each other get to know each other even better. Who doesn't want to see that?
All proceeds from this show will go to the Laughter Against the Machine (W. Kamau Bell, Nato Green, and Janine Brito) national tour and documentary. LATM will wade into the most polarized quagmires in the US, the flashpoints of American ignorance and upheaval. We're going to Phoenix, Chicago, Dearborn, Madison, Washington DC, New Orleans, and wrapping up in Oakland. Like Doctors Without Borders, but with jokes instead of penicillin, LATM roams the country bringing humor to the people who need it the most.
Info about the Kickstarter campaign for the national tour is here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2078067338/laughter-against-the-machine-a-tour-documentary
