Sketchy dude who probably works for the feds
Alert: sketchy dude with suspected toupée and fake Eastern European accent possibly taking your photo for government purposes (where do they find these guys, anyway?)
This guy (see jpeg below) shows up at political actions—particularly those related to state violence and apartheid in the US—and takes photographs of people.
He is conspicuously inconspicuous in his conduct, and also stands out because of his silver hair (toupée?) and his attire, which generally resembles that of a tourist.
When recently asked for his business card, he produced a business card identifying himself as Livejournal blogger Victor Polyakov, and acted like he spoke no English. (I've seen him around SF for at least a couple-few years, so I'm thinking he would have picked up a few sentences by now!)
While there is somebody who posts at livejournal.com as Victor Polyakov (see http://al-31f.livejournal.com), that person doesn't seem to be posting about political actions in the SF Bay area.
Go figure.

There ARE a few dark-skinned Russians;
tho not many.
Some came from Africa as exchange students,
back in Soviet days.
............
A few are descended from black American Communists,
who migrated there, seeking equality and socialism;
only to discover a police state
[instead of a workers' state].
....
At any rate, try speaking Russian
or Ukrainian [almost the same]
to this man.
....
I am a left-wing Yank, who visited Australia in the Reagan years.
At a leftist gay meeting, one paranoid bloke accused me
of being a spy for the US govt.
This amused me, since I had been
fighting against "my" govt for decades already.
Nationalism often persists among socialists, alas.

1. Dude is a white guy, though it may not be apparent from poorly lit digital image uploaded here, and though I don't know what you're getting at.
2. I don't speak Russian or Ukrainian.
3. Dude passes himself off as a blogger unable to speak English, yet has biz card in English.
4. Dude JUST takes pictures (which is consistent with his acting like he doesn't speak English, but inconsistent with his blogger front--as is the fact that no blogs about SF protests are published at livejournal.com by anybody with his purported name).

I think Victor Polyakov, the Russian/Ukrainian photographer is OK. He does good work which can be seen in the link below:
