BAY AREA SIGNATURE GATHERING AND SUPPORT FOR OIL TAX TO FUND EDUCATION (PROP 1481) SOUGHT AT 3 EVENTS (TONIGHT, FRIDAY AUGUST 12TH AND TOMORROW, SATURDAY, AUGUST 13TH)

Fresh from the successful Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCC) unanimous endorsement of Prop 1481, lead proponent and co-author Professor Peter Mathews will speak tonight Friday August 12 at 8pm to the Student Trustees of the California Community Colleges at Hyatt Regency at 1333 Bay Shore Highway in Burlingame, CA. Questions and answers will follow.
Tomorrow, Saturday August 13 at 11:30 am, Mathews and the Bay Area leaders of Prop 1481 will be gathering petition signatures and holding a press conference at the Street Fair in Japan Town at 1728 Buchanan Street in front of Iroha Restaurant.
At 2:30 pm, Professor Mathews will be speaking at the Cal State Student Associations (CSSA) meeting to the CSSA Legislative Committee student Senators representing 23 CSU campuses statewide.
At each of these event, Mathews will stress the importance of student leadership in this historic quest to place Prop 1481 on the California Ballot and fully fund California Education, Kindergarten through College and Universities.
