Into the Current: Burma's Political Prisoners
http://www.intothecurrent.org
Directed by Jeanne Hallacy

Co-Production with the Democratic Voice of Burma (55 minutes)

Into the Current tells the story of Burma's unsung heroes - its
prisoners of conscience - and the price they pay for speaking truth to
power in a military dictatorship. Using footage secretly shot in Burma,
the film uncovers the stories and sacrifice of 'ordinary' people of
exceptional courage, and the leaders who inspire them. Former
prisoner Bo Kyi and his underground team in exile and inside Burma
work tirelessly and at great risk on behalf of their 2,100 jailed
colleagues. The film portrays Aung San Suu Kyi's visionary
leadership of the country's non-violent movement and the selfless
dedication of leading activists: Min Ko Naing, Zarganar and Nilar
Thein. While they and countless others fight on, the dream of a free
Burma remains alive.
