I agree with the reaction to the Toronto Canada cop's statement . That reaction took the form of many of the women participants in rallies wearing sexy, revealing ''slutty '' clothes . Good . But why then denounce women models for dressing the same way ? Sexy isn't defacto ''sexism ''.
Some feminists still don't get it. Not only isn't it none of the State's business what consenting adults, Gay, straight or Bi do behind closed doors or how what women wear doesn't mean they're ''asking for it '' but it''s no one's (including feminist orgs ) business what models choose to wear to make a living .
HUMANS like sexy images, photos, performances, movies etc. Get used to it !

I'm guessing you are a guy. If you are not, you are thinking like a man... Yeah, you don't get it. Okay to dress any way you want and not be victimized for it? Yes. Okay for women, many of whom are actually girls age 16 and younger, to model showing off their bodies for $? No! Some big corporation is making $ off that modeling, selling their product using sex. Not right.
In addition to the above response to the stupid man above, you will notice that all the "sexy" images are of young girls; not of men. I can assure you the outcry would be deafening if we had to look at naked men everywhere. This is all the profit motive; it has nothing to do with personal taste or personal freedom.

It is incomprehensible why any woman or girl wears any skirts, dresses, high heels, stockings that supposedly replace pants, tight-fitting pants that are bad for the skin, carcinogenic, allergiy-inducing make-up and perfumes, carcinogenic hair dyes and fingernail colors and polish, dangerous hair straightening chemicals, horrifying, disease-imitating and invitation to blood-poisoning tattoos, dangerous piercings of any kind either in the ear or anywhere else and all the other profiteering rackets that pass for "women's clothes" and appearance "fads." We have not had to wear skirts to work or school since the 1970s, so that horror has ended. There is no reason to wear shoes that are not flat, comfortable walking shoes. Shoes' heels should not be more than 1 inch above the sole. Simple leather loafers are dressy enough. There is no need for boots. Pants should be loose-fitting cotton so the skin can breathe and the legs can move, and with pockets so as eliminate the need for a purse when possible. I shop in the "men's" section as much as possible because men's pants are pants; the garbage they sell to women caters to male chauvinism and is a waste of money. The stockings women are wearing as pants, which slide down easily, are garbage too and an insult to women. The other outrage is the tears in women's pants on the legs, both being a waste of good pants and catering to male chauvinism. Cotton shirts, both short-sleeved T shirts and long-sleeved, are sufficient for casual wear, and are cheap and high quality in the men's section. As to shorts, they are not needed by anyone when the temperature is less than 80 degrees; certainly not in 60 degree San Francisco "summer." When it is hot, there is no need for short shorts that barely cover the behind. Bermuda shorts (ending at the knee), with useful pockets are sufficient as shorts. These are certainly available in the men's and boy's sections, top quality cotton for good prices. The fashion parade must end as it is simply a profiteering racket and caters to male chauvinism. Try buying for quality, longevity and comfort; you will find your best buys in the "men's" section. Only for blouses and women's pants suits, and obviously underwear, do you need to go to the women's section, and try buying for quality and price, not some profiteering designer's male chauvinist idea of women's clothing. When they cannot sell their male chauvinist "clothing," it will disappear as all they care about is profits.

BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, and it is long overdue that all women teach men that our natural beauty is what they will have to behold because we do not need or want all the makeup, tattoos, hair dyes, hair straightening chemicals, fingernail colors and polish and perfumes all of which are also a threat to our health, and since we are not trees to be decorated, we do not need dangling earrings, or any piercings of any kind whether in the ear or anywhere else. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET should be our message to all and that will certainly end the male chauvinist profiteering rackets in clothing and accessories.

There aren't any ''sexy images'' of men in advertising ? You need to read more than the '' Socialist Worker ''.
Magazines , Newspapers, Billboards and Tv Commericals are filled with buff half naked male models for Banana Republic, the Gap etc. Probably aimed more at a Gay male customer base than women but they're all out there.
