March Forward! members speak in San Francisco
Iraq war veterans turned anti-war organizers will speak in San Francisco about their experiences in Washington’s wars, how it transformed them into anti-war activists, and how they are building a GI resistance movement within the U.S. military today.
The event is organized by March Forward!, an organization of veterans and active-duty troops opposed to the wars (click here to learn more about March Forward! at http://www.MarchForward.org), and will come on the heels of a major speak-out at Army base Fort Lewis, where they have been organizing among active-duty soldiers.
Come for eyewitness accounts of the “War on Terror” and battling VA care upon returning, an analysis of the current situation for veterans and service members, and the prospects for a renewed anti-war struggle among ranks of veterans and active-duty troops.
Speakers include:
-Mike Prysner: Former Army intelligence operative who served in the invasion of Iraq in 2003; co-founder of March Forward!; known for stirring Winter Soldier testimony on YouTube
-Ryan Endicott: Former Marine Corps infantryman who served in Ramadi, Iraq; March Forward! organizer; featured in new documentary on PTSD titled “On the Bridge” (Official selection, al-Jazeera film festival)
-Kevin Baker: Former Army infantryman who served 28 months in Iraq, March Forward! organizer; featured in new documentary on GI organizing titled “Grounds for Resistance”
