U.S. Election 2012: Alexander Will Only Seek SPUSA, PFP Nominations for President
Stewart Alexander says his presidential campaign is a left campaign to President Obama’s broken promises to working people. Alexander’s campaign has emphasized ending the U.S. war campaigns in Asia and Africa, introducing a single-payer health care system for working people, ending the big corporate tax breaks for big corporations, protecting Medicare, and creating millions of good paying jobs for working people.

With only three months before the National Convention for Socialist Party USA, U.S. Presidential Candidate Stewart Alexander announced today that he will no longer seek the Green Party’s Nomination for U.S. President; instead, Alexander will only seek the presidential nominations for the Socialist Party USA, and the Peace and Freedom Party-California.
In a statement, Stewart Alexander said his decision was based upon the Green Party’s nomination requirements; “the requirements would greatly restrict my ability to seek the U.S. Presidential Nominations for the Socialist Party USA and the Peace and Freedom Party.”
Alexander has been with the Peace and Freedom Party since 1998. In 2006, Alexander was the PFP’s California Candidate for lieutenant governor, and in 2010, he ran as a candidate for California governor on the PFP’s ballot line. Alexander joined the Socialist Party USA in 2007 and was the party’s nominee for U.S. Vice President in 2008. Until recently, Alexander was the California Chair for the Socialist Party; however, he moved aside to allow more time to build his campaign in the 2012 race for the White House.

The article should mention that SPUSA rules also forbid Alexander from doing this. Apparently, this is the least of Alexander's concerns.
