Single Payer Now - III
The U.S. already has a single payer system for old folks: Medicare. Why not just put everyone in Medicare? That's actually been done in one American city, and Dennis Kelly, head of the teachers' union in San Francisco, tells how Libby, Montana, did it. Then Greg Brockbank, who is running to be mayor of San Rafael, tells what's going to have to be done once S.B. 810 becomes law in California: the Health Insurance Corp's will do their best to sabotage it by holding the law up to referendum. Once their referendum is defeated at the polls, Single Payer (Medicare for All) will finally go into effect in California. And lastly Jean Taylor, Church Women United, lays out some statistics showing that then it'll be young people who will really benefit from the Medicare-type universal coverage of S.B. 810.
