Flowers & Music of the World
May 29 (1-5pm) at the UCSC Arboretum
Music - Flowers - Food - Wine
The SC Baroque Festival and the UCSC Arboretum jointly present an afternoon of 'Flowers & Music of the World,' complemented by a delightful assortment of gourmet food and beverages from local vendors.
Five different music groups playing folk and ethnic styles from around the world will highlight the Arboretum's exotic collection of global plants and eco-niches, complemented by guided tours of each area.
A pre-event meet & greet from 12pm invites guest to arrive at their leisure. The music groups will perform continuously, starting in succession from 1pm. Culinary offerings from local vendors include an assortment of appetizers, delicious desserts, regional wines, as well as bavarian pretzels and beer.
The Arboretum features the largest collection of Australian and South African plants outside of their native countries, the most diverse collection of eucalyptus and their relatives, an unmatched collection of conifers and other trees, and extensive representatives of New Zealand and native California flora.
'Flowers and Music of the World' offers enough sights, sounds, and tastes to entertain both locals and visitors while touring this world-class living collection.
This collaborative and volunteer-driven fundraiser jointly benefits the Baroque Festival and the Arboretum - two long-standing organizations dedicated to fighting extinction of rare plants and art in our community.
