Live music, open air dancing, picnicking and freshly grilled chicken are the

road.

The Firemen's Barbecue is a long-running celebration and fund-raiser for the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Local musicians provide the tunes from a rustic stage, the firefighters tend smoky grills, and a children's play area keeps the youngsters entertained.

Beer and wine are available for purchase as is clothing featuring the fire department's iconic dog logo.

Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged. For a minimum donation of $20 per car, barbecue goers get parking and $10 in coupons for meals, drinks or clothing. The event ends with a raffle of more than 100 prizes that include overnight accommodations and airline tickets.
