Global Exchange’s 9th Annual Human Rights Awards celebrate the people and organizations that are working to uphold the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and make real change happen.
This year’s winners are Bolivian UN AmbassadorPablo Solón, U.S. Gulf Coast toxicologist Wilma Subra, and Mexican anti-violence campaigner Javier Sicilia. They will be honored at a fun and inspiring ceremony hosted by ice cream activists Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield (Ben & Jerry).
The event features video presentations on the three winners, speeches by Amb. Solón and Ms. Subra, a locally grown/sustainable/organic dinner and all-you-can-eat Ben & Jerry’s fair trade ice cream bar, live Cuban music from Pellejo Seco, and a silent auction.
Proceeds from the event go to support the work of the Human Rights Award winners and Global Exchange.
