The theme was geared towards immigrant workers, with direct connections to working conditions nationally and internationally. How do we turn the tide against cutbacks of pay and benefits, terminations, increasingly hostile and sometimes unsafe working conditions? Among the speakers is Dennis Kelly of the California teachers' union, talking about an extended worker action in the near future in Sacramento to fight the proposed cutbacks in education funding.

Activists marched through the Mission with chants and music to the Civic Center for more rallying. The action was spirited and colorful, calls to stand up and fight and for a general strike rang clear.
