Experiences of anti-militarism and anti-war organizing among soldiers and sailors by the Socialist/Communist Parties of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Internationals. Most of the problems encountered and practices inaugurated were later unknowingly replayed by GI organizers during the Vietnam war and later. Forearmed with this knowledge would have better prepared the contemporary anti-war movement for such activities. The lecture will cover this early, primarily European history. Presented by Al Sargis. Sponsored by the Friedrich Engels Institute of Marxist War & Military Analysis
