Redistricting - the process of re-drawing political districts - affects whether we have the ability to elect candidates of our choice, to represent us on the issues that we care about. In 2011, we have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to ensure that the lines drawn for state senate, assembly, and congressional districts fairly represent us.
Check out our short video to learn more about what redistricting is and why it matters, on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqBRz7yu4vs.
The new Citizens Redistricting Commission is holding a series of public input hearings across the state to hear from local leaders and community members such as yourselves about the areas where you live. This 2-hr workshop will provide all the tools and information you need to meaningfully contribute to the dialogue, and ensure your voice is heard. No experience necessary. All are welcome.
RSVP is appreciated. Email micheller [at] greenlining.org or visit us on Facebook at
