Dina Ibrahim (Associate Professor of Journalism at San Francisco State University) and Sharat G. Lin (writer and eyewitness at Tahrir Square at the height of the uprising) will discuss facts and media reporting of the people's revolution in Egypt.

Dina Ibrahim, PhD is an Associate Professor of Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University, where she teaches theoretical and practical courses in radio and television news. She has reported for the BBC World Service Radio in London, United Press International in Cairo, CNN in Atlanta, NPR in Austin, and KPOO 89.5 FM in San Francisco. She is currently hosting Arab TV on CreaTV Channel 15 in San Jose. Her research interests are in the psychological impact of television depictions on audiences in the United States, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as well as analyzing the visual framing of U.S. television news representations of Islam and Arab countries.
Sharat G. Lin, PhD is president of the San Jose Peace & Justice Center. He writes on global political economy, the Middle East and South Asia, labor migration, and public health. He just spent a week in Tahrir Square at the height of the popular uprising.
