The Middle East Children's Alliance celebrates the bay area book release of "The Goldstone Report: The Legacy of the Landmark Investigation of the Gaza Conflict" (Nation Books) -- an edited version of the UN report documenting war crimes during Operation Cast Lead. With a Forward by Desmond Tutu and an Introduction by Naomi Klein, the book includes essays by Raji Sourani, Leila El-Haddad, Ali Abunimah, Rashid Khalidi, Letty Cottin Pogrebin, Brian Baird, and more!

"An essential read for those concerned with accurate documentation of historical events and nations' accountability for their treatment of civilians living in war zones." -- Publisher's Weekly

Two of the book's editors, Phil Weiss and Adam Horowitz, will present stories from the report and lead a discussion.

"The first-hand testimonies Phil and Adam share from the book are devastating. And the conversation they lead afterwards -- why knowing these stories matters, and what we can do to prevent horrific bloodshed -- is life-affirming." -- Cecilie Surasky, Jewish Voice for Peace

Tickets $15, $10 low-income/students, at http://www.mecaforpeace.org, or 510-548-0542, or at area bookstores: (East Bay) Diesel, Moe's Books, Walden Pond, Pegasus/Solanao, Pegasus/Shattuck; (SF) Modern Times (until April 30). Benefit for MECA's Maia Project: Clean Water for the Children of Gaza. Wheelchair accessible and ASL interpreted.
