A talk on the parallels between Kashmir and Palestine featuring prominent journalist and Bay Area activist Yasmin Qureshi. From their roots in British colonialism to the nature of the respective occupations, Kashmir and Palestine possess many notable similarities.
Yasmin Qureshi is a Bay Area human rights acitivst involved in social justice movements in South Asia and Palestine. Her articles include "Speaking out on Kashmir and Palestine in the US" and "Democracy Under the Barrel of a Gun." She has given presentations at UC Berkeley, De Anza College, San Jose State University.
